In 1928 within La Clayette, France, the company Potain was born. Since then, Potain has been the world leader in tower crane production. Moreover, these are the biggest special application cranes which are custom-designed. These units offer a reach capacity of one hundred sixty tons.

Manitowoc has 2 of their largest manufacturing facilities in the United States. The Manitowoc manufacturing facility is located within Wisconsin. In this state, both the tower crane components and crawler cranes are made in the state of Pennsylvania in the Shady Grove plant. Here both mobile cranes and boom trucks are built. Regional offices are located within Mexico and in Brazil.
