Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads with these machinery. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right choice.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment made specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
