Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that can power forklifts. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
