Narrow aisle forklifts
Narrow aisle forklifts are normally utilized in warehousing operations. These types of forklifts are important machines within the business because their small size and extreme maneuverability allow warehouses to make the most of storing space. They could easily go around aisles which are 1.8 meters wide, while typical lift trucks require at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two types are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The first need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, while the second can function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The design of the narrow aisle forklift features forks which are positioned at right angles to the body of the truck. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This design feature is the key to their suitability for limited spaces.
Several very narrow aisle forklifts come with wire or optical guidance systems that make sure that the forklift moves in a straight line down the aisle, that leaves the operator free to concentrate on load placement and picking.
The cushion tires that come with these types of lifts are made of solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on concrete floors and smooth, paved surfaces. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors suited for use in indoor places. Propane-powered models are available also.
