The Carriage
Similar to typical forklifts, the lifting attachment is able t be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There are different types of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The model's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. Also, which lifting attachment plays an important part, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on etc. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Most of the time, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending upon the unit in particular and the configuration of the boom, the load capacity may differ by thousands of pounds all together.
